While looking around this mini-mall known to openly sell pirated DVDs, I happened to buy a copy of season one of this new television series called "Fallen." Fascinated by subjects on biblical myths (which some believe are not myths at all), the paranormal and basically anything unexplainable and bizarre, I watched the series and, since it only had around four episodes, finished the disc.
The series revolves around this teenage boy who, after having just turned eighteen, developed certain powers and eventually found out that he was a nephilim, offspring of a fallen angel and a mortal woman, possessing both angelic powers and a human soul. This young boy, Aaron, turned out to be the redeemer who, according to an alleged prophecy, will save all fallen angels who are on earth (a punishment from God after taking part in a rebellion in heaven) and ultimately bring them back to heaven. Aaron's acceptance of his role came to be after a lot of brushes and encounters with fallen angels who either wanted to protect him or be redeemed by him, and warrior angels (called the Powers) delegated by God himself to rid the world of nephilims whom they considered freaks and abominations.
The last episode revealed that Aaron's father was none other than the Morning Star, Lucifer, who prophesied that his son's coming will actually pave the way for him to return to heaven. But being that his son was also mortal and thus, have freewill and the awareness of what is right and wrong, chose not to help his demon dad (having realized that his plan was to really take the throne from the Almighty) and threw him back to the pit of Hell.
If you are like me...basically a sucker for the the arcane subjects, this series is a jewel. Nabitin nga lang ako (felt it was not enough for me). Sorry again for all the spoilers. Awaiting season two of Fallen (hoping they didn't cancel the series because of some writers group's protest or something).
Viewing this series has again awakened my seeming interest on these subjects. But unfortunately, I have to cut short this entry because my daughter is already breathing down my neck and wanted me off the 'puter. Bitin ba? So sorry. I'll be back for more of these topics soon.
