New links I have been dying to add, now up

As you may have noticed, I have posted new links right there at pin(k)oy's right side column. After I finally unlinked this site from my other (work-related) blogs, I suddenly grew balls (pardon the french) and just upped those links to sites and resources that talk about issues currently hounding this place I call home - Subic Bay.

It's really quite difficult for me to openly take sides (though sometimes I do voice out my opinions when they are not looking haha!). I work for the very institution that has been the source of bane to the community here. I do my job, yes. But that doesn't mean I agree with everything it has been doing lately.


Never have I been really so affected and majorly pissed at what's been going on here. It's probably because I am in this friggin' dilemma of having the awareness of the situation and not having the power (and the position) to fight for what I think should be.

I once thought of myself as being idealistic. Well, that was because I was young then. But as you grow older, you think more about your family and how you'll be able to provide them sustenance. But, I know it's wrong to just stand around and do nothing - a mere spectator rather than being an active participant.

Thus, here I am doing my own thing (well, at least I'm doing something), hoping that I will be able to spread the word, at least through those little links I have posted on this site (and please, dear Pin(k)oy readers, do check them out).

I wish though that I could do more. I do care a lot about Subic. This has been my home for the last 10 years or so. My daughter is now a native of this place being raised here. Hardly could anyone find a place here in this country that is comparable to Subic - truly beautiful and blessed with nature's gifts. I just feel so sad that some people chose to be blind and not see the truth that we are selling our future to interlopers who are just there to make a fast buck and not care what happens to us.
