Tagged: "15"

This is one post that practically cost me about two hours of potential sleep just to write a draft and post it on Pinkoy.

The tag comes from Violet of "Silip..." which was brilliantly written in Pilipino though the tag was originally in English (traced it back to a blog called I live. I love. I am me).

I hope the tag creator wouldn't mind but I sort of altered the title. I never got past Violet's friend in tracing it back so I really don't know what the original title of the tag is. Even "Silip..." has its own tag title.

Talk about creative license, eh?

So anyway, here are the rules of this tag:

A. Write something about 15 different people
B. You can not say who they are
C. If someone asks you which one is about them you can NOT tell
D. Tag 15 people who you think would do this, too. You don't have to tag the people you wrote about.

Here goes Pin(k)oy's "15":

1. Pinkoy… pink-pink… bink-bink… beng-beng… poink poink… cupcake… cuppie… kimp-kimp…kyamp-kyamps… kimpoy… lambing. The way I call her becomes weirder and weirder as she grows up. A real headache but you know teenagers these days. Very creative, talented and painfully brilliant that sometimes I wonder if she really is a product of her mom. Her mother’s greatest achievement.

2. The other Paquiao because he has hogged almost all possible medical conditions known to man (pakyaw). Despite this, he continues to tick and remains the backbone of the household, asking nothing in return but a soothing scratch on his back and the family’s laundry. A walking history book and a certified addict of Facebook’s Texas Hold’em Poker.

3. The Emo kid. He may not be a teenager anymore but…imagine this hulk of a kid who could pass off as a potential club bouncer but is actually a cry-baby and craves for his grandma when he thinks he’s got the bad end of the deal? Despite this however, he really is a good kid. Just needs a little smack on the head (from his grandpa).

4. I don’t know if this girl has ever been on the wrong side of the curb. Not one to admit that she really is a nerd, her instinctive precision in numbers has rewarded her not only a really good high-paying career, but a loving family as well. Her life indeed is one planned, precise equation.

5. If her mom is a nerd, this little girl is a potential geek. From that wee tot emanates these strings of phrases and ideas no person less than 5 years old could ever conceive. She continues to have this long-standing relationship with a purple dinosaur. I only hope that when she grows up she wouldn’t be looking for a purple boyfriend. Just kidding mom!

6. “Breaker…What’s your 10-20?” - He used to be called Falcon 6 (or was it 7..?). Well it was the 90s and the VHF ham radio was really alive back then. He was one of those geeks who organized all these ops for the group DZ1-RARE which was composed of serious(?) hammers living in the Makati-Mandaluyong area. Years later, he became husband to Falcon 99 and lived happily ever after (you think these call signs are a hoot? I used to be Falcon 95 hehe).

7. Another ham radio geek who once resided in the dark world of jammers. He shares a daughter with another erstwhile part-time jammer and from what I’ve heard last, he’s considering a serious career in photography after resigning from his day-job. Hey, don’t forget your kid’s allowance!

8. A BBW with an equally BB heart. She has this huge network of friends that if she would ever run for mayor of Olongapo City, she’ll definitely win (watch out Dick! lol). It’s always sunshine and rainbows with her that you’d think there is never any negative vibes on her…so sweet that you’d think she’s actually not a diabetic. Always searching for that one true love. Not yet pa ba? What about P? (Don’t let him read this though lol).

9. She was the one who actually started this “mamu” business at work. A workaholic mom who always ends her day still looking beautiful and wrinkle-free despite her grueling schedule. Her prowess in wearing those 5-inch high heeled shoes is one of those girl powers I wish I have. A walking, breathing “Barbie doll.” She is so pretty that, if I were a man, I’d probably steal her from her husband (good thing I’m her best girl pal lol).

10. Program director, music & production director, deejay extraordinaire and full-time gigolo (wow ha!). This guy can’t stay put. Always on the lookout for that potential mate (or is it FuBu? lol). Can’t blame him for having that voice that sends female denizens of camfrog chat straight to his virtual radio booth.

12. He used to be…yes, a gigolo, until he met his daughter’s mom, and later the love of his life and mother of his son (confusing?). A hell of a writer who now has a successful career in Dubai doing what he loves and at times, showing off his knack for the printed word in his blog. His site actually inspired me to do the same…blogging. Yes dude, it’s your fault, lol.

13. I never thought this unassuming person whom I briefly worked with ages ago would turn out to become one of the pillars of blogging. I never really read any of his writings before until someone showed me his award-winning blogs. Exceptional! Along with number 12 in my list, he was an inspiration that led me to this very addictive activity.

14. He’s masungit (ill-tempered) and serious most of his official time but beneath that façade is a caring person. He only puts his guard down among friends and you know he’s in a good mood if he gamely takes in the nose jokes.

15. Wolverine! (Too bad about that unfinished version…have they arrested the freak who snuck out that copy yet?)

Whew...tough but fun, ain't it?

Now I'm passing this gruelling task to the next 15:

A Friend Named Goddy / Anak ni Kulapo / Slap Happy / In My Own Words / Damuhan / Dungeon Lord / Jologs na Yuppie / The Daily Grind / Tambay / Unpublished Scrap / Mayyang / Halo Halo Espesyal / Life's All About / Cacai / Crazy & Creamy
