I don't know if George Michael will appreciate it or cringe, but his 1984 #1 hit "Careless Whisper" got a new lease in life all because of that controversial Hayden Kho-Katrina Halili sex video - nope, not the real one, but the one where they lip-synched the song while dancing in their underwear (love that bandanna doc!). And, it has a name... the "Careless Whisper Scandal" (google it). What a way to revive an 80s classic.
Now practically everybody's singing (or lip-synching to) the song (while probably in their underwear). Even radio deejays can't help but talk about "the video" in their spiels before and after playing that friggin track.
So, as tribute to this 80s jewel, I'm featuring THE song (which was all about the guilt felt by a man over an affair, and his acknowledgment that his partner was always going to find out) here in Pinkoy - the original track by George Michael and cover versions of the song, including the latest from Seether, as well as the lyrics of the song.
