Bloggin' Crazy

My life has gone bloggin' crazy!

As if I wasn't busy enough with managing a radio station and the needs of my family, I could say I am punishing myself with more work.

For years I remained a lurker of the triple W. I just log in to check on my emails, do research and chat once in a while. Having friends who started blogging ironically after leaving our agency to look for greener pastures abroad, I then visited some of their now massively-earning sites and wondered...how the hell did they do that?!

Then my measly-salaried career shifted gears and I found myself working in a radio station. I originally thought of doing the blog for Bay FM as a way of promoting the facility since we don't actually have an official website yet. Since I used to supervise SBMA's website when I was still in marketing (content-wise that is, which is again ironic because I'm really not a webmaster), I thought upping a blog for Subic Bay Radio was a cool idea. So, I did. I never realized that this will be the start of a crazed near-obsession (that I wish I could vehemently deny).

Traffic in TurnTheRadioOn was slow at first. So then I thought, since TTRO (its acronym, duh) is not yet getting a head's up, maybe I could create a personal blog. I added another blog, Pin(k)oy (this site), at the time when I needed some sort of outlet to blow off-steam, out some personal stuff which I basically cannot do in my first blog and keep my mind off certain longings(ouch!).

That time, making money on my blogs was farthest from my mind. I placed one or two adsense here and there, and that's it, never really thinking of their revenue-potential. I was basically a neophyte.

Then, I started to hop. With two blogs now under my sleeve, I hopped-hopped-hopped to other blog sites that are devoted to (what else?) blogging. I realized that if these people earn so much from blogging, why can't I? Keeping in mind what the blogging gods say about the importance of traffic, I registered like mad in blog communities and search engines. Then it happened.

Traffic in TTRO exploded. I was ecstatic! It's aliiiivvveee!!! As for my personal blog, I was just taking it easy. IT IS my personal blog, anyway.

But the unthinkable happened. Thanks (or no thanks?) to that blasted kitty up there on my header, Pin(k)oy suddenly gained attention (actually more attention than TTRO) that, after I switched from writing Tagalog to English entries, it received an unbelievable (well, for a newbie like me) eight comments for just a single post!

Sobrang naaliw ako kaya ngayon nababaliw na ako sa blogging (I was so amused that right now I am going crazy over blogging). So crazy I've become that I again punished myself and created another blog - Subic Bay Newslink. A crazed Johnny-come-lately newbie...that's what I am.

Just wish I could do something about that revenue-generating thing. I suck!

Hi!
