That Kitty is Getting Popular

I just got a very nice email from Dame Wotta Tripp who maintains www.icebringer.com. It was not the first time I got a compliment from visitors here (who are but a handful for now), but jeez, that cat is really getting a lot of attention! So now, for the benefit of non-Filipino readers who visit my site, here's my story about that kitty up there.

Stray cats are a common thing in a lot of communities here in the Philippines. In our neighborhood, we have around four of them hanging out on our front porch. They are a very useful bunch really, especially in keeping out those ROUSes (rodents of unusual size).


One kitty stands out from the rest, and she caught the eye of my hubby, Bert. Sure, she was just an ordinary orange and white cat, but this creature might have been a human being in her past life- she sits just like a person, butt on the floor, front paws up.

Bert was so amused that he took a picture of her with my cell phone. I mean, she didn't even run away. She just sat there as if she knew she was being photographed!

Anyway, Bert showed me the picture and I loaded the image in my computer, did some Photoshop thing, and viola!...there she is now on my blog header.

What I did was I textured it in oil, giving it very vivid colors. The green thing there was actually mold. Then I stretched the photo a bit. I'm not really a visually creative person, but I think I did quite a job on that photo.

It's too bad I forgot where I stored the original photo.

For those who love to have a picture of Pinkoy [Sorry Gabbie (my daughter who owns that nick when she was still a baby)...but it seems that cat up there deserves a name], I'm posting the image here for you to grab.
