What's wrong with Hayden?

So far, almost half the population of this country has probably (and guiltily) seen the controversial sex videotape of Dr. Hayden Kho, Jr. and sexy starlet Katrina Halili. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the entire Senate committee currently hearing this scandal already saw the video, in aid of legislation. The erstwhile lovers have become household names that even an ex-cop wanted to get his own five seconds of fame on local news by pouring a whole bottle of mineral water over the already remorseful Dr. Hayden.

God Meets Bureaucracy

In the beginning God created heaven and the earth. Quickly he was faced with a class action suit for failure to file an environmental impact statement. He was granted a temporary permit for the project, but was stymied with the Cease and Desist order for the earthly part. Appearing at the hearing, God was asked why he began his earthly project in the first place. He replied that he just liked to be creative.

SHITisms

(Ingenious! For fun only and is not meant to shit on anyone. Enjoy...)

1. Taoism: Shit happens. If you can shit, it isn't shit. Shit happens, so flow with it.

2. Hare Krishna: Shit Happens, Rama Rama Ding Ding. She-it happens, She-it happens, happens, happens, she-it, she-it... (Repeat until you become one with she-it). Please take this flower and buy our shit.

Star Trek Reboot...sans the wrinkles

Captain Kirk? Hot! Spock? Hotter than ever!

Now I grew up watching the original Star Trek series reruns but never really saw these characters as hot or whatever. It was the 70s and as a child fascinated with science fiction, I usually sat through Star Trek totally amazed as it introduced me to things like warp speed, phaser guns, flip top comm gadgets and teleportation ("Beam me up, Scotty"... love that everytime) while getting a kick out of William Shatner's morse code-like intonation and cheezy acting (which I loved to imitate by the way).

The Inevitable Laws of Work

(Because Pinkoy cares about your mental health in the workplace ^-^)

• If you can't get your work done in the first 24 hours, work nights.
• A pat on the back is only a few centimeters from a kick in the butt.
• Don't be irreplaceable, if you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted.

Year of the Pig

Move aside Ox, it's the year of the Pig.

Now before Chinese astrologers yell in violent protest against this post, that intro was just a construct for me to make a point.

Tagged: "15"

This is one post that practically cost me about two hours of potential sleep just to write a draft and post it on Pinkoy.

The tag comes from Violet of "Silip..." which was brilliantly written in Pilipino though the tag was originally in English (traced it back to a blog called I live. I love. I am me).

I hope the tag creator wouldn't mind but I sort of altered the title. I never got past Violet's friend in tracing it back so I really don't know what the original title of the tag is. Even "Silip..." has its own tag title.

The 2009 Friendship Award

I'm going real crazy over here while doing this entry. I'm doing this post from...of all the friggin' places, an internet cafe full of loud, noisy kids playing network games!

I definitely wouldn't recommend blogging in an internet cafe. It's just that we are spending our weekend in Manila to attend a family affair and as usual , I couldn't stay away from that kitty up there.

LAWYERS part deux

One of the earliest posts I made was LAWYERS, a hilarious list of things said between lawyers and witnesses in court hearings actually taken down and published in a book called Disorder in American Courts.

Now I'm back with more of these so-called "transquips," this time courtesy of Mary Louise Gilman, the venerable editor of the National Shorthand Reporter who has collected many of the more hilarious courtroom bloopers in two books - Humor in the Court (1977) and More Humor in the Court, published only recently.

A friendship tag and the pink uber-amazing blog award

Only in the blogosphere have I gotten so much accolades! I got twin awards from The Pope of Palipasan, a fellow supporter of the Pinoy Expats/OFW Blog Awards (PEBA) and a new Pinkoy follower and friend. Thanks so much dude! Getting all these awards from such wonderful people is definitely a veritable high for me.

Absolutely extreme eco-friendly tips for Earth Day

Humanity is frying! Us mortals living in equatorial countries are the most exposed to this truly intense heat which, according to certain scientists, is caused by the increased activity of the sun (and NOT the so-called carbon emissions we people have been spewing...so they say).
